It’s not often we get excited by the support and headline act, as well as heading to a new venue.
In this instance it’s truly triple special.
We are taking over the gloriously atmospheric Piano Smithfield on Wednesday 4th August – think New York Jazz Club meets Chicago Speakeasy – and putting on two outrageously talented bands.
Super talented, super lovely Migdalia and her quartet of Piano, Sax, Bass and Drums will be playing jazz and jazz fusion that comprises catchy melodies and heavy groove.
Doors at 7 – Rapturous applause at 10 – then either enjoy a few drinks with the bands or head home easily as Barbican tube station is within a couple of minutes walk.
Live gigs on an open top bar-bus with the sights of London as the backdrop.
Safe Open Air – Fun – Unique
TALENTBANQ are pleased to be working with Tootbus on a truly special series of gigs offering live music while you tour the famous sights of the capital.
Departing at 7pm just down the road from Piccadilly Circus, you and your friends are invited on board this brand new open top bus.
Drinks will be served to your table – and as the bus heads around Trafalgar Square, the show starts.
It’s 90 minutes of joy above the city that gave so much music to the world.
We’ve lined up some incredible talent to play for you.
TALENTBANQ are pleased to announce that Ed Tattersall has joined the roster and it all came about in the old fashioned way.
We have always said we need to see artists live before inviting them to our stages or to the roster.
This has been close to impossible under Covid rules.
How refreshing then to see Ed step out on stage – main venue at 229 – to open for October Drift.
A few tables back James and Ray looked at each other.
“This guy’s good”
Welcome Ed!
Here’s what we have to say…
“With a voice like the kind of sandpaper you want to be rubbed with”… …you only have to listen to understand.
With vocal and emotional inspiration from the likes of Paulo Nutini and Caleb Followill (Kings of Leon), care and love for lyrics he writes and the power to make heads turn when he switches on the big stuff.
Ed brings a whole lotta soul, intrigue and a performance that’s surprising, touches your heart and leaves you with a deep desire to find out more.
TALENTBANQ are pleased to announce that Brooke Law has joined the roster.
Brought up in a mixed heritage family, Brooke has grown up in an environment, which openly encouraged expression and to take every opportunity, which presents itself.
Taking on influences from a number of great musicians such as Annie Lennox, Joan Armatrading, and Jeff Buckley, Brooke’s music, like her beliefs, are uncompromising: emotional and direct.
Brooke’s most recent single ‘Talk To Me’ shows her to be fun and feisty – just like her personality on stage!
TALENTBANQ are pleased to announce that Holly Carter will join the business as Production Manager on June 24th.
Holly’s passion for live music started from a very young age. Discovering Jimi Hendrix and learning guitar at age 11 she has been forming bands and running shows ever since.
Holly has worked in marketing, promotion and booking for live music venues for several years, including: The Social, The Amersham Arms, The Fiddlers Elbow.
“As we and the live music industry emerge from the challenges presented by Covid 19 – it’s great to be able to welcome a colleague with Holly’s experience, passion and drive. I first met her at a gig in Camden where she played with her band BERRIES. Impressed by her talents on stage, it’s been rewarding getting to know Holly off stage too. I know she will be a real asset to the business, and a valuable addition to the team.”
Holly comments:
“I am so excited to join TALENTBANQ. I have worked in music venues across many roles over the years but my main passion is discovering and marketing grass roots musicians/bands. Ray and the team have a genuine love and enthusiasm for live music and I really can’t wait to join the team and get stuck in”.
TALENTBANQ are very pleased to announce that Danny Starr has joined the roster.
Danny is a fantastic singer-songwriter based in London.
Danny Starr has spent several years honing his songwriting craft and developing a unique and personal style that is immediately recognisable as his own.
Since he started writing at 14, Danny has blended the raw gut-wrenching emotion of inspirations such as Amy Winehouse and Ben Howard with the in-depth storytelling of Passenger and Arctic Monkeys.
It is this affinity for storytelling that makes Danny’s live performances unique, at which he tells a new story at each show using his original songs to soundtrack the plot he describes in the breaks between the songs.
Danny’s music, which mixes indie-rock with acoustic songwriting and soulful lyrics has gained substantial attention from across the globe, including ongoing support from BBC Introducing.
