It’s not often we get excited by the support and headline act, as well as heading to a new venue.
In this instance it’s truly triple special.
We are taking over the gloriously atmospheric Piano Smithfield on Wednesday 4th August – think New York Jazz Club meets Chicago Speakeasy – and putting on two outrageously talented bands.
To open the show Pablo and the Blue Notes.
Eagle eyes, friends of Caffe Nero and all who have attended The Cornbury Festival will recognise the name.
Yes it’s our very own “Pablo” at his boogie woogie best – accompanied by upright bass and drums.
We’ll let Pablo share where they last performed. It was rather swish !
Headlining the night is The Migdalia van der Hoven Quartet
Super talented, super lovely Migdalia and her quartet of Piano, Sax, Bass and Drums will be playing jazz and jazz fusion that comprises catchy melodies and heavy groove.
Doors at 7 – Rapturous applause at 10 – then either enjoy a few drinks with the bands or head home easily as Barbican tube station is within a couple of minutes walk.
You can see why we are so excited.
Tickets are just £5.
