Watch the UK’s most talented unsigned artists and one rather well known Canadian musician for this special tribute gig to the history of The Bedford and its past in helping to discover some of the UK’s most exciting musicians such as Ed Sheeran, Paolo Nutini and James Morrison.
Bobby Bazini – a French Canadian musician, Bazini’s first single “I Wonder” stayed eight weeks on the Top 3 of ADISQ. His debut album Better in Time debuted at No. 4 on the Canadian Albums Chart and was certified platinum by the CRIA with over 80,000 copies sold. Warner Music Group acquired the rights to his album, and it is now distributed in 35 countries. In 2011, Bazini was nominated for two Juno Awards.
Bobby will be in London doing some song writing and has agreed to do this special showcase as a tribute the role The Bedford has played in discovering new music talent.
This is a rare opportunity to hear Bobby performing in a very intimate venue whose sound system is recognised as being one of the best to be found anywhere in London.
Hollie Rogers Music – Hollie is the Caffe Nero Artist of the Month in February and can be heard every afternoon playing in Caffe Nero for 15 minutes. Hollie Rogers is a London based singer, songwriter and guitarist with an incredibly powerful voice. Her live performances consistently receive outstanding reviews, with regular reference to the level of honesty in her lyrics and songs. With the backing of BBC Music Introducing and two stunning studio albums under her belt, Hollie has supported acts likeSuzanne Vega, Midge Ure, Paolo Nutini and Ralph McTell. Often playing with a full backing band or as a duo with double bass, and performing with notable candour, her live shows are not to be missed.
As of 2018, Hollie is working closely with #TALENTBANQ and her music is playlisted in all Caffè Nero stores worldwide. Last year, Hollie’s fan base came together to crowdfund a new release through Kickstarter. ‘The Body To Ground EP’, produced by 4-time Grammy-nominated James McMillan, features Thomas Holder on double bass, with Mark Edwards (Katie Melua) on piano, and is available to stream now on iTunes and Spotify.
Si Connelly Brighton based singer-songwriter Si Connelly released his debut album Youth // War // Joy in 2016 under the West One Music label. Produced by Chris Potter (The Verve, Blur) and Dom Morley (Amy Winehouse, Adele). The album features tracks ‘Hurt You’, which attained lead sync rotation with ITV & Fox, and Lights, which has received over 3 million plays worldwide so far.
Ever prolific, Si got back to work in early 2017, releasing self-produced single ‘Lion House’ via his own Dead Rabbit label. Lion House gained BBC Introducing backing and received national radio plays, including backing from Amazing Radio and Richer Unsigned.
Si has spent years touring and recording as a solo artist and continues to push forward. Si is also in the Brighton band Goldbirds.
Lots Holloway Multi-instrumentalist Lots Holloway writes and produces catchy indie-pop tunes. Her talent for song writing shines through in clever lyrics, strong melodies and memorable songs that manage to stay with you long after you first hear them.
Based around live instruments (drums, guitar and bass) with clever layers of sounds from the freaky and psychedelic end of the spectrum. All this adds up to something truly fresh and original, and a live show from Lots Holloway is just as compelling.
