As part of Beyond the Frame at the Aesthetica Short Film Festival, Aesthetica has joined forces with Caffè Nero, Imagesound, and TALENTBANQ to present a new competition for live music.
The New Music Stage Competition is a vibrant launchpad for emerging artists, joining screen culture, performance and music.
The competition culminates in a live showcase of the finalists, hosted by TALENTBANQ, at the Aesthetica Film Festival on Saturday 8th November.
Giving you the chance to put your music in front of filmmakers, curators, music supervisors, and creative industry leaders.

The competition is open to all ages and all genres of music and spoken word, including but not limited to:

21 September 2025| Submission Deadline
1 October | Bands Announced to play on the New Music Stage
8 November 2025 | Performance on the New Music Stage and winner announced at York Theatre Royal, YO1 7HD, UK.
Judging| All entries will be judged by professionals in the music industry and feedback will be provided to all entrants upon request.
Entries must be entered through a streaming link, (Spotify, Soundcloud, YouTube, BandCamp or Google Drive).
All music and related content must respect copyright laws and not infringe on any intellectual property rights.
The finalists will perform on the New Music Stage, during the Aesthetica Short Film Festival on Saturday 8 November, at the York Theatre Royal, YO1 7HD, UK.
