Ormella LIVE at The Camden Chapel | An acoustic ‘listening’ music venue operated by TALENTBANQ
A gig that will be a tease of what I will release as my first solo EP.
On the 14th December myself and a small group of musicians will serenade you with my newest material, with the added support from the wonderful Rónán Karicos.
Hailing from North London, Ormella is a classically trained singer and multi-instrumentalist. Having previously lent her unmistakably soulful voice to the classic analogue synthesiser sounds and reverb-drenched guitars in the atmospheric pop band ‘Takk’ she now, as a solo artist, pushes her sound into a more intimate space – stripping her songs back to a singer-songwriter style. Her self-proclaimed influences including: Joni Mitchell, Florence Welch, Christine McVie and Fiona Apple are alive in her sound and songwriting style. It’s hard to disagree with ‘Pretty in Noise’ who described her voice as ‘A Lighthouse in Sound’ in response to her debut single with the aforementioned band.
With an opening set from Rónán Karicos.
Doors at 19.00
