Jodie Knight | Live at The Camden Chapel
Jodie Knight LIVE at The Camden Chapel | An acoustic ‘listening’ music venue operated by TALENTBANQ
Jodie Knight is a songwriter, vocalist and producer from Glasgow now based in London. Her music draws influences from artists such as Chelsea Cutler, Ben Howard, and Holly Humberstone – very lyrically driven songs with strong, emotional melodies.
In 2018 she opened for Rick Astley on 2 nights of his UK tour and in 2022 she opened for the Scotland V Argentina game at Murrayfield Stadium (67,000). She has supported Texas in Quaglino’s in London, played a sold out Sofar Sounds in The Ministry & in 2023 she performed at the infamous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Bar.
In 2021 she graduated from Sir Paul McCartney’s performing arts university LIPA, with a first class honours degree in songwriting & production and since then has used her skills to work with producers and writers from all over the world. In 2023 she recorded an EP at the world famous Abbey Road Studios, which is set to be out in 2024.
“Jodie Knight is an expert at whether it’s her own sad girl kind of pop, or whether she’s supplying a vocal feature on a huge, huge dance banger. She has proven time and time again how versatile her voice is and I reckon in a couple of years time she’s going to be one of BBC Introducing’s major new success stories.” – Phoebe & Shereen, BBC Introducing Scotland.
With an opening set by Chris Harper.
Supported by Chris Harper, an indie-pop singer/songwriter from Crowborough in Sussex. Chris uses his music to inspire those who feel outcasted due to their identity or ambitions.
“I was raised in a very strict military family, who doubted my choice to go into music, and sent me to a school where everything was regimented and geared towards exam results. I didn’t feel free to be a creative individual there, so when I arrived at Uni I finally felt able to escape to song writing as a means to express myself, and to cope with my dyslexia, learning difficulties and being different to all the other kids.”
18 years of pent up feelings put into music for people to find comfort in.
A combination of big guitar sounds inspired by bands like Guns N Roses, with the catchiness of artists like Charlie Puth and Taylor Swift. If you’re a fan of Nothing But Thieves, Alfie Templeman, COIN or Two Door Cinema Club, you’ve found your next favourite artist.
