Celebrating Great Female Jazz Voices

Celebrating Great Female Jazz Voices

Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, Betty Carter and Abbey Lincoln weren’t just great jazz vocalists – they were also songwriters, who contributed some key and iconic works to the canon.

In Celebrating Great Female Jazz Voices, vocalist Ineza and the Alex Webb Trio explore the repertoire penned by the great female songstresses: Billie’s Tell Me More, Peggy’s It’s a Good Day, Abbey’s Throw it Away, Betty Carter’s Tight and many more, including poet Fran Landesman’s classic lyric Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most

As well as the classics, Women’s Words, Sisters’ Stories also celebrates great female songwriters from the modern day, including Jazzmeia Horn, Cecile Mclorin Salvant and Rachelle Ferrell.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.
