Big dreams, big hair and a big voice, Yoji is a POP/ R&B artist from Suffolk and based in London. With songwriting at the core of Yoji’s artistry, she writes her songs as though they are extracts from her diary, heartfelt, honest and depicting fragments of her life.
As young as 5, Yoji began creating songs in the playground and when she turned 8 she took up classical piano. While attending Goldsmiths University Yoji developed her production skills which is where she self-produced several singles and an EP. Yoji has since released a new single called ‘Talk To My Younger Self’ which gained Track of the Week on BBC Introducing. With Nico Bryant she released a duet called ‘Can We Just Pretend’ which sparked the forming of a band called SOULiloquy. The band includes Steve Does Music a producer friend of Nico Bryant’s, they are both students at Philadelphia’s Music University USA.
Nationally, Yoji’s had radio play on Capital FM, Heart FM & 6 Music. Highlights include performing at the O2 Arena at the Electric Soul Festival and teaming up with Samaritans writing a charity single. Yoji honed her craft by regularly performing in central London and the West End. Yoji’s singles also featured in national BBC Introducing Mix Tapes including The Hot List & The Drive Home From Glastonbury.
New music is on the horizon for both Yoji and Souliloquy. Yoji will be releasing her 4th solo EP this year and the band will be dropping their debut album this year.
