About Steve Young

Steve's music is magnetic fusion of acoustic pop and alternative country with a “powerful & Incredible voice”.

He toured with Darren Hayes (the former front man for Savage Garden) all over the world from The Royal Albert Hall, Wembley Arena, all across Europe, Canada, the USA to Sydney State Theatre.

He has opened shows for Tom Odell and Carlene Carter (daughter of Johnny Cash's wife June Carter) and performed with Lionel Richie on the Graham Norton Show.

Other show's include:- The London O2 - Country 2 Country Festival, Time Out London's 'Rising Stars of UK Country', Edinburgh Free Fringe and featured as Caffè Nero’s ‘Artist Of The Month’ playing at over 30 stores from Scotland down to Portsmouth.

In Nov 2017 he performed live on BBC Radio 2 to 7 million listeners, recorded live for Bob Harris' 'Under The Apple Tree Sessions' and played by Terry Wogan & Jo Whiley, Radio Caroline, Chris Country Radio and 100's of community / online stations.

Festival appearances have so far included: The Cornbury Festival, Buckle & Boots Country Festival, TogFest and the Folk On The Dock Festival on Liverpool’s Albert Dock.

In 2013 Steve began working on his own material embracing a love of blues, rock and country.

Steve attended the world renowned Chris Difford Songwriting Retreat alongside artists such as Beth Nielsen Chapman, Graham Gouldman, Nik Kershaw, Kevin Montgomery... and resulted in Steve performing with Eurythmics' - Dave Stewart at a special concert for the charity Church Keys. 

Steve's Debut EP, “Little Things” was launched live in New York City at the Rockwood Music Hall. Its quintet of songs recalling whispers of Steve’s influences such as early Clapton, John Mayer, David Gray, The Eagles and Turin Breaks but within unique heartfelt and infectious melodic romances of sound.

In August 2017 Steve released a ‘White Label EP’ called The Great North Road. The EP was produced by ex Nashville producer Justin Johnson who has recently worked with many of the UK’s up & coming Americana/Country acts. Recorded at the famous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool it features some of the UK’s finest Artists and session musicians.
